Polarica is again pleased to announce the publication of its sustainability report, now for the fiscal year 2024–2025. Our third annual sustainability report provides an updated view of the company’s sustainability efforts, progress, and areas for further development.
While Polarica is not yet in scope for the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), this year’s report applies selected elements of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The aim is to improve the structure and comparability of the company’s sustainability disclosures and provide more details to our sustainability work than previously.
The 2024 report highlights the following key developments:
- A company-wide Double Materiality Assessment, incorporating input from stakeholders across the value chain
- Improved labour and human rights due diligence, including site visits and follow-up in high-risk sourcing areas
- Significant reductions in emissions in own operations (Scope 1 and 2), driven by energy efficiency improvements and the transition to certified green electricity
- Continued work on Scope 3 emissions data, with a focus on supplier engagement
- Early-stage biodiversity risk mapping and ongoing work on climate adaptation planning
The report also outlines updated policies and targets related to ethical sourcing, food safety, and supplier evaluation. It also brings together information from previous years and presents it in a clearer, more standardised format for improved visibility.
