Social responsibility

Polarica Berry Group’s daily operations have significant impacts on four key groups of people, namely: individuals within our own work community, those within our supply chains, end-users of our products, and individuals residing in the vicinity of our facilities.

We are committed to upholding the human rights of individuals belonging to each of these groups.

Our Human Rights Policy is a commitment to sustainability that includes economic, social, and environmental aspects, with particular emphasis on human rights responsibility. This policy was adopted by the Board of Directors on March 3, 2023.

The policy applies to everyone and every entity in the group, and it builds on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. To support this policy, the group conducted a Human Rights Impact Assessment in 2022.

Ensuring food safety

Polarica prioritizes product and food safety through the selection of high-quality raw materials, production methods, and packaging materials.

Product safety begins with the sourcing of raw materials from forests and gardens and extends throughout the entire supply chain.

Our supervisory standards and checkpoints are monitored through FSSC 22000, BRC compliance, IFS or a HACCP system. Our strict quality assurance approach is built into our management system, which we continuously improve.

Quality Policy

Organic

The organic label on packaging serves as an indicator that the food product has been produced in compliance with the European Union's (EU) organic regulations.  These regulations apply uniformly throughout all EU member states. Additionally, organic products imported from outside the EU must comply with the same requirements.

The organic label signifies that the food has been produced without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers, while also preserving nutrients and natural resources through recycling, maintaining biodiversity, improving soil fertility, and promoting animal welfare. The use of artificial colors, sweeteners, and flavor enhancers is also prohibited in organic production.  The terms of organic production include these standards, and their observance is carefully checked.

You can find the organic label on our products that meet the criteria for organic certification. You can find more detailed information about organic labels here.

The Heart Symbol

The Heart Symbol serves as a simple and effective indicator of a product’s nutritional quality, allowing consumers to make informed choices about their food intake.
A product bearing the Heart Symbol is recognized for its superior quality in terms of the quantity and quality of fat and salt within its respective product category.
Polarica proudly offers a diverse selection of berry products, several of which are endorsed with the Heart Symbol, attesting to our commitment to promoting healthier food options for our customers.

Allergens

If allergens are utilized in the production of our goods, we ensure that all relevant allergen information is accurately and clearly communicated in the product information for the finished product.

Our wild and cultivated berry products are inherently free from allergens. If any allergens are stored or handled in a production facility, we use and store them in accordance with food legislation and good manufacturing practices.

This approach prevents any potential contamination and underscores our unwavering commitment to providing safe and high-quality food products for our customers.

Additives

At Polarica, we place great emphasis on minimizing the use of additives in our products.

Our commitment to natural and pure ingredients is evident in our berries and fruits, which are completely free from any artificial additives.
