Our human rights policy integrates economic, social, and environmental sustainability, with particular emphasis on human rights.
Human Rights in the Value Chain
In 2024, we initiated a pilot program with Fair Trade Finland and other industry players to develop certified berry-picking criteria. The criteria were finalized in June 2024. Read more.
Ensuring food safety
Polarica prioritizes product and food safety through rigorous standards for raw materials, production methods, and packaging materials.
Product safety begins with the sourcing of raw materials from forests and gardens and extends throughout the entire supply chain.
Polarica holds several certifications, including EU organic certification, EKO, BRC, Kosher (Certificate of Kashrut), Bio Suisse, IFS Food, FSSC 22000, and KRAV.
All Polarica facilities follow HACCP protocols. To prevent contamination in Nordic berry products, we have implemented thorough cleaning and sorting processes. Organic
The organic label on packaging indicates compliance with the European Union's (EU) organic regulations. These regulations are consistently applied across all EU member states as well as for imported goods.
The organic label signifies that the food has been produced without the use of synthetic chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Organic farming practices are designed to protect the environment by preserving soil, water, and air quality, maintaining biodiversity, improving soil fertility, and promoting animal welfare. The use of artificial colors, sweeteners, and flavor enhancers is restricted, while only a select few substances are permitted in organic production.
These standards are an integral part of organic production, and their compliance is carefully checked by independent certification bodies.
The Heart Symbol serves as a simple and effective indicator of a product’s nutritional quality, allowing consumers to make informed choices about their food intake. A product bearing the Heart Symbol is recognized for its superior quality in terms of the quantity and quality of fat and salt within its respective product category. Polarica proudly offers a diverse selection of berry products, several of which are endorsed with the Heart Symbol, attesting to our commitment to promoting healthier food options for our customers.
Allergens
If allergens are present in any of our products, we clearly communicate this on product labels.
Our wild and cultivated berry products are inherently free from allergens, and we follow strict protocols to prevent cross-contamination in facilities where allergens are handled.

Our commitment to natural and pure ingredients is evident in our berries and fruits, which are completely free from any artificial additives.
